About Sanelli
Sanelli's story begins in Premana, a small town near Lake Como in northern Italy, where skilled craftsmen have worked with metal for generations. Sanelli was founded in 1864 and for more than 150 years has developed knives and kitchen tools for professional kitchens and home cooks alike.
Every Sanelli product is made in Premana and combines modern technology with centuries of local expertise – the best of two worlds: innovation and traditional craftsmanship.
Three series, three handles
The blades are of high quality across the range. What separates the series is the handle – and that is where the choice lies. All three are dishwasher safe.
- Premana – high-quality steel and an antibacterial handle. Built for environments where hygiene is put to the test.
- Ergoforge – an ergonomically shaped black POM handle. The knives are forged in one piece with stainless steel rivets, giving a knife that holds its shape through years of use.
- Skin line – a textured PP handle for a secure grip even with wet hands. The handle meets strict hygiene and food-contact requirements, and recurs on several of the kitchen tools in the range.
Finding the right knife
If you already know which type of knife you need, go straight to it rather than choosing a series:
- Chef's knives – the knife that does most of the work in a kitchen
- Santoku knives – a shorter, wider blade with a Japanese edge
- Bread knives – a serrated blade that does not crush the loaf
- Meat knives – for boning, trimming and carving
- Filleting knives – a long, flexible blade for fish
- Paring knives – a short blade for work done in the hand
- Cheese knives – for both hard and soft cheese
