Stölzle Lausitz

A journey that began in 1889

When Oberlausitzer Glaswerke J. Schweig & Co. was founded in Weißwasser in 1889, it was with a vision of excellence. From medical glass and light bulbs to tableware, the glassworks has always been at the forefront of technological development.

In 1996 the factory was acquired by Stölzle Oberglas AG, an Austrian family business that carried out an extensive modernisation. Under the name Stölzle Lausitz GmbH, the company became more efficient and more sustainable, and is today a leading independent manufacturer in the German glass industry.

Advanced manufacturing

In Weißwasser the glasses are made today using modern methods. The lead-free crystal glass is produced mechanically to a quality that rivals mouth-blown glass. The glasses are designed to bring out the full aroma of each drink – from wine to cocktails.
