About Stölzle Lausitz

A journey that began in 1889

When Oberlausitzer Glaswerke J. Schweig & Co. was founded in Weißwasser in 1889, it was with a vision of excellence. From medical glass and light bulbs to tableware, the glassworks has always been at the forefront of technological development.

In 1996 the factory was acquired by Stölzle Oberglas AG, an Austrian family business that carried out an extensive modernisation. Under the name Stölzle Lausitz GmbH, the company became more efficient and more sustainable, and is today a leading independent manufacturer in the German glass industry.

Advanced manufacturing

In Weißwasser the glasses are made today using modern methods. The lead-free crystal glass is produced mechanically to a quality that rivals mouth-blown glass. The glasses are designed to bring out the full aroma of each drink – from wine to cocktails.

Lasting quality and elegance

A Stölzle Lausitz glass is not only beautiful and functional but also durable. The glasses are dishwasher safe, and the high-quality Lausitz sand gives them an outstanding brilliance – where tradition meets innovation.

The series we carry

Stölzle Lausitz groups its glassware into series, each with its own design language and purpose. We are a retailer for seven of them:

  • Q1 – Stölzle Lausitz's top series, and the only mouth-blown one. Each glass is shaped by hand, giving a thinner bowl and a lighter feel in the hand than machine-made glass can reach. Sold in pairs.
  • Quatrophil – classic wine glasses with a tall, slender stem and a clearly defined bowl. The series covers white, red and champagne, and is the most complete if you want one design language across the whole table.
  • Cocoon – rounded, organically shaped glasses that give wine the maximum room to open up. The curved bowl concentrates the aromas and suits full-bodied reds in particular.
  • Symphony – the signature of this series is the vertical texture inside the bowl, which catches the light and gives the glass an exclusive character. A glass for the occasions when the table should say something.
  • Soho – straight vertical lines along the surface of the glass, created by diamond cutting. Whisky and longdrink glasses for the bar shelf.
  • Kyoto Bar – clean, straight lines and a minimalist character. Cocktail glassware for the bar classics, including the Nick & Nora glass for the Dry Martini and the Manhattan.
  • Coffee'n More – double-walled glass mugs that keep coffee hot and stay cool to hold.
